Adventures in Monotangle #2

First of all I want to thank everyone who took part in “The adventures in Monotangles #1,” I was hoping that I would get 10 people to take part in my 1st challenge and you all smashed that. I have 20 people as of today, twice what I wanted.

OK on to the adventure: There is a tangle’s  name out there that when spoken, tends to be spoken with great love, or great fear. This is one of the few tangle’s that it seems everyone loves but many people have trouble with. It also happens to be one of my favorite. It is currently #2, right behind Indy-Rella, and was my favorite until I learned Indy.

The pattern is Rick’s paradox. Instructions are here.

The challenge is to use Padarox outside the box. Come up with a new way to use it. It is normally in square or triangle area, so figure it out in a circle. Push the number of side. I myself pushed it up into 3D. I printed out an Icosahedron pattern, tangled it, then folded it. I am very happy at how it turned out.

So go out and bring a new twist to paradox. Tangle away!

    1. Well Monica than you should just do normal paradox! Follow the link above and follow the instructions. If you find it a challenge, than just doing it would be awesome. You can do it!

    3. And it's just a piece of paper after all that--who cares how many times you screw up til it sticks in your hand and brain? Just do it! Once you get it you will feel superior, as do the rest of us who can just toss it off (like me--want to see my (huge) pile of practice sheets?)
      GO, Monica!

  4. Howdy Roy--I'm not seeing the Mr. Linky, do I need to add my link an old fashioned way. I went with your circle idea as I filled in the circles I got some really neat effects.

  5. OK Mr. Linky is there. Sorry about that, I had the code in the wrong location. Teach me to edit code when fighting a cold. =D Thanks for pointing out it was missing Beverly

  6. Thanks Roy--hope your cold is better soon. I'm hardly ever this quick on the mark, but I liked the way this came out.

  8. A quick note….

I really try to respond to most comments that are posted here. I also try to look at each new entry as it is linked, and leave a constructive comment about the entry. This weekend I may not be posting a lot. I am either getting a cold or the flu, and I am grumpy about it. I plan on spending much of the weekend in bed. I do plan on trying to get the slide show for Adventures #1 done and posted though.

Everyone, please have a wonderful weekend, and keep Tangeling!

  10. Love your Isocahedron! Have you ever made flexagons? There is a template at http://www.auntannie.com/Geometric/HexaHexaFlexagon/

I think a flexagon would make you feel better!

  11. Since I did Paradox last time as a free choice, I felt especially challenged. However, Paradox IS my favorite so off I went to combine it with another swap I am in. Thanks Roy and get well soon :)

  13. Thanks for the "nudge" to use Rick's Paradox. I had to practice first as it has been awhile. I think I have one more to add to my blog as a ZIA, but wanted to get these in before Thursday.
